WEYMOUTH was developed as a seaside resort in the Georgian period and over centuries its economy has relied upon not only tourism but also its port and fishing harbour. RICHARD DRAX worked closely with the formerly conservative-led Dorset Council to secure government funding to enable sea walls in both the picturesque old harbour and the marina to be repaired, opening the way for re-development which will bring more jobs and prosperity to South Dorset.
